Visa fourth-quarter revenue rises 13 percent as fiscal 2027 outlook moderates

Visa reported fiscal fourth-quarter net revenue of $12.1 billion on October 27, up 13 percent from a year earlier, according to the company’s results release. GAAP net income was $6.0 billion, or $3.19 per share, against $5.1 billion, or $2.62 per share, a year earlier, Reuters reported. Adjusted earnings were $3.48 per share, up 17 percent, which topped the $3.44 consensus while revenue matched expectations, according to Investing.com.

Payments volume rose 9 percent in constant dollars in the quarter, and cross-border volume excluding transactions within Europe rose 14 percent, according to Reuters. For the full fiscal year, net revenue was $45.9 billion, up 15 percent, and adjusted earnings were $13.27 per share, up 16 percent, according to Investing.com. Chief executive Ryan McInerney described fiscal 2026 as a milestone year. Value-added services revenue reached $14 billion for the year, up 30 percent in constant dollars, according to a transcript of the earnings call.

Visa expects net revenue to grow at a low double-digit percentage rate in fiscal 2027 and adjusted earnings per share to grow from the low double digits to the low teens, Reuters reported, a moderation from the 16 percent adjusted earnings growth of fiscal 2026. It expects value-added services revenue to grow in the low-20 to mid-20 percent range, and about 25 percent of its payments volume is due for contract renewal in 2027, up from about 20 percent in fiscal 2026, according to a transcript published by The Motley Fool. Management said stablecoin and agentic commerce volumes are growing quickly but remain very small relative to the overall business, according to Seeking Alpha’s summary of the call.

Shares fell in extended trading, by more than 1 percent according to Reuters and by 2.3 percent according to Investing.com, which attributed the decline to the more moderate fiscal 2027 outlook. Visa repurchased about 11 million shares for $4.0 billion in the quarter and $20.5 billion over the year, Investing.com reported.

Visa reported fiscal third-quarter revenue of $11.6 billion on July 28, and received approval from China’s central bank on October 13 to begin preparing a domestic clearing business. Mastercard reported third-quarter results on October 29, with net revenue up 14 percent.

Correction, October 30: An earlier version of this article said Mastercard was scheduled to report third-quarter results on October 29. Mastercard reported on that date.
