MoonPay acquires deposit startup Glide in sixth deal of the year

MoonPay, the New York-based crypto payments company, has acquired Glide, a San Francisco startup that builds crypto deposit infrastructure, the companies said in a joint announcement on July 16 reported by Cointelegraph. Financial terms were not disclosed, though The Block reported the transaction was all equity.

Glide was founded in 2023 by Tushar Soni and Qinyu Tong, former members of the team that built Robinhood’s crypto wallet, and was backed by Y Combinator. Its technology lets applications accept deposits in any token, from any wallet, exchange or payment card, without requiring users to manually swap assets or move them between blockchain networks. The company supports more than 100 tokens across more than 30 networks and processes over $100 million in annualized transaction volume, according to the announcement.

Its infrastructure will be folded into MoonPay Deposits, the acquirer’s funding product already used by applications including Wallet in Telegram, Moonshot and Paysafe, Cointelegraph reported. Glide’s four employees, including both co-founders, are joining MoonPay.

“Every acquisition this year has added a layer of the infrastructure” that businesses need to operate with digital assets, MoonPay chief executive Ivan Soto-Wright told Cointelegraph, pointing to earlier deals covering security, trading and accounting capabilities.

This is MoonPay’s sixth acquisition announcement of 2026, following Sodot, Decent, DFlow, Entendre and Dawn Labs, according to The Block. Earlier purchases include the Solana payments company Helio and the stablecoin infrastructure firm Iron. MoonPay raised a $555 million Series A in 2021 at a valuation of $3.4 billion.
